The girl from Mount Druitt who became a remarkable comedy voice

Nakkiah is an actor, playwright and comedian.

She co-wrote and starred in the ABC TV series Black Comedy.

Nakkiah grew up in Mt Druitt, in outer western Sydney, in a close-knit Aboriginal family.

Despite this, she’s always tried to live by the advice given to her early on in life: when telling stories, always try to offend your mother.

While Nakkiah was in school, she wasn’t sure there was a place for her anywhere in the world.

Now she's become a successful playwright, director and actor.
